Door tag

Door number = room number the door is opening into + a suffix.

e.g. if room No 1234 has one door opening into it, the door number will be 1234.D1 If room No 2345 has three doors opening into it, they will be identified as 2345.D1, 2345.D2 and 2345.D3

Exceptions from the rule: e.g. accessible toilet door opening into corridor – assign door number the same as toilet room number, not corridor

Once the door numbers are assigned, do not change them, e.g. if the door swing changes half way through the documentation, do not change the door number.

        Room numbers Indicates a room number which appear on the general arrangement drawings. These numbers will be the final room numbers in the future unless otherwise stated due to design change. Room Name/location This column provides the name of the room or location. For information only Partitions Performance Requirements. Refer to the Technical reference Sheet. This column provides the performance requirements of the partition wall type where the door is located. E.g. Fire rated, Acoustic or Smoke wall. It is intended that the corresponding doors match the performance requirements of the wall partitions. Door Types This column refers to the door types outlined in the Door Elevation Drawings and is intended for the contractor to check and cross reference with the drawings. Door Number Doors will be identified by a door number consisting of 2 parts i.e. Room number and D1, D2, D3 and etc. E.g. If the room number is A1006 the door will be labelled A1006.D1 if only one door is applicable to the room. If there is more than one door per room the door number will be A1006.D1, A1006.D2 etc.     All hardware selections below are subject to confirmation by Client e.g. to match existing. Notes 1. C. Work under the Subcontract shall be base fixed, with a sliding head connection to the primary structure made from concrete or steel. D. Take every precaution to ensure that no chemical or electrolytic action takes place where dissimilar metals and/ or materials are used together, and to isolate metal components from cementitious surfaces. Necessary insulation shall be provided wherever dissimilar metals come into contact. E. All inaccessible steel shall be hot dip galvanised. F. All alloys shall be similarly finished to match accepted samples. 3.3 Plasterboard Ceilings A. To AS/NZS 2589. B. Fix, joint and finish in accordance with the system manufacturer's instructions. Provide movement joints for the area of ceiling and coordinate with structural movement joints. C. Boards shall be screwed neatly and accurately without damaging surfaces. Any damaged board shall be replaced. D. Heads of screws shall be set below the surface of boards and filled to form a flush surface. E. Joints of boards applied in two or more layers shall be staggered ensuring that all edges and ends are fully supported and screwed to grid members. F. Unless specified to a higher standard, flush plasterboard ceilings shall achieve a level 4 finish in accordance with AS/NZS 2589. G. Suspension system shall be suitably robust and installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. H. Install within the zones indicated on the Design Drawings and incorporate a sliding head connection to the primary support structure. 3.4 Ceiling Penetrations A. Where partitions terminate at the suspended ceiling (ie the suspended ceiling is continuous above the partition), ceiling penetrations within 1000mm of the partition shall be acoustically treated. 3.5 Movement Joints A. Movement joints shall be as shown on the Design Drawings and installed to the manufacturer's recommendations. B. Provide movement joints as appropriate for the area of ceiling and/ or to coincide with movement joints in the surrounding structure. 3.6 Fire Stopping A. All gaps at junctions with walls, cavity barriers, ducts, pipes and other penetrations shall be sealed using tightly packed mineral wool, intumescent sealant or other fireproof material to prevent penetration of smoke and flame. B. The installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's approved tested prototypes. 3.7 Air Plenum Barrier A. Air plenum barriers shall comprise rigid or semi-rigid non-porous sheets with smooth non-dusting surfaces having the same fire spread rating as that required for membrane materials exposed within the void. B. Air plenum barriers shall be fixed securely at perimeters and joints, using methods recommended by the barrier manufacturer to ensure permanent stability. All edges and joints shall be effectively sealed to prevent air leakage. 3.8 Installation Tolerances A. Grid dimensions as shown on the Design Drawings shall be maintained ±1mm. B. Finished ceiling levels shall be as shown on the Design Drawings ±2mm in 1000mm length. C. Check all Site dimensions before commencement of installation. D. Accommodate all specified tolerances and differences between actual Site dimensions and dimensions shown on the Shop Drawings. E. Joints between panels shall be consistent, square and flush, being clamped together by the support system. Where gaskets are installed in joints, they shall not vary in width by more than 10% of the width of the gasket in place. F. Panel to panel lipping or plan offset shall not exceed 0.5mm and shall be non-cumulative across any ceiling. G. Grid creep across any ceiling shall not exceed 1.5mm in a 10m length. GENERAL 1.1 Related Documents A. This work section shall be read in conjunction with the Superintendent's Tender Documents and other related sections of the Specification. 1.2 Outline of Work A. This work section of the Specification, when read in conjunction with the Design Drawings, provides particular requirements with respect to the following: 1. Suspended ceiling systems: a) Acoustic tile ceilings. b) Plasterboard ceilings. 2. Ceiling access panels. 3. Insulation. 4. Movement joints. B. Ensure that all interfaces are fully coordinated prior to commencement. 1.3 Post Subcontract Samples A. In accordance with the Superintendent's Tender Documents provide post Subcontract samples of the following: 1. Paint finishes as specified. 2. 300mm length of support system. 3. Samples of panels, grilles, trims, etc. 4. All fixing types. 5. All insulation materials. 1.4 Mock-ups A. Not required. 1.5 Prototypes A. Not required. 1.6 Benchmark Requirements A. Provide the following quality benchmarks in accordance with the Superintendent's Tender Documents: 1. The first 10m² of each type in location as agreed with the Superintendent. 1.7 Witness Points A. The Superintendent shall be invited to inspect work under the Subcontract at the following stages (a minimum of two working days notice shall be given): 1. Completed ceiling before Site painting, if applicable. 2. The suspension system before installation of the ceiling panels or lining. 3. Set out of all movement joints. 1.8 Subcontractor's Subcontractors A. Submit name and contact details of proposed manufacturers and Subcontractor's Subcontractors. 1.9 Shop Drawings A. Submit Shop Drawings showing the relevant details of the ceiling system as follows: 1. Grid set out and extent of all ceiling types. Show all services outlets and demonstrate that all services have been adequately coordinated. 2. Details: Large scale details of construction, suspension system, methods of assembly, trim and fixing, showing dimensions, clearances and tolerances. 3. Partition attachment: Method of attaching heads of partitions to the ceiling support members. 1.10 Warranties A. All ceiling systems shall withstand temperature and humidity without visible sag for 15 years. 1.11 Test Requirements A. Provide evidence of independent tests carried out to demonstrate that the products comply with the Specification or carry out such tests necessary to demonstrate compliance. B. Such tests to demonstrate compliance in respect of the following criteria: 1. Fire resistance. 2. Air leakage. 3. Acoustic integrity. 4. Structural stability. 2. PRODUCTS 2.1 Type CLG-01 Suspended Plasterboard Ceiling A. 13mm gypsum plasterboard lining fixed to the suspended ceiling system at 600mm centres. B. Upstands, bulkheads, coffers and the like as shown on the Design Drawings shall have internal and external stainless steel corner stopping beads. C. Where plasterboard ceilings abut walls, provide Rondo P50 shadow stopping angles. Gaps between the wall and the metal edge of the stopping angle shall be filled with a paintable flexible sealant. 2.2 Type CLG-02 Suspended Moisture Resistant Plasterboard Ceiling A. 13mm moisture resistant plasterboard lining fixed to suspended ceiling system at 600mm maximum centres. B. Where plasterboard ceilings abut walls, provide Rondo P50 shadow stopping angles. Gaps between the wall and the metal edge of the stopping angle shall be filled with a paintable flexible sealant. 2.3 Type CLG-03 Suspended Plasterboard Ceiling - Curved Profile A. 13mm gypsum plasterboard lining, curved to profiles as detailed on the Design Drawings. 1. Fixed to the suspended ceiling system at maximum 600mm centres, and as required to support the required curvature without deviation. B. Upstands, bulkheads, coffers and the like as shown on the Design Drawings shall have internal and external stainless steel corner stopping beads. C. Where plasterboard ceilings abut walls, provide Rondo P50 shadow stopping angles. Gaps between the wall and the metal edge of the stopping angle shall be filled with a paintable flexible sealant. 2.4 Type CLG-04 Suspended Acoustic Tile Ceiling - 40CAC A. 1200mm x 600mm lay in acoustic ceiling tiles. B. Manufacturer/ reference: CSR Fricker Cosmos range, or acceptable equivalent. 1. Code: CSR FCS 600ANDB20. C. Grid: CSR USG Donn DX Steel Grid system, or acceptable equivalent. D.
